Funding Options:

Private Health Insurance:

Depending on your Private Health Fund (PHF) and level of coverage, rebates for speech pathology services may be available.

NDIS: National Disability Insurance Scheme:

Speech Pathology Feeding will accept any child who has NDIS funding, however they must be plan managed or self managed. We provide service agreement plans, support families in applying for NDIS funding and provide 1:1 feeding therapy.

  • Your child may be eligible for NDIS if they have a disability caused by a permanent impairment.
  • Your child has difficulties across multiple areas of development.
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident.

Helping Children with Autism Program

Children with suspected autism or autism are eligible for funding under this the Medicare Benefits Scheme. Clients must be under 13 years of age at the time of diagnosis and under 15 years of age when receiving treatment. The paediatrician can allocate up to 20 sessions for treatment from allied health disciplines, including speech pathology. A paediatrician or psychiatrist determines the child’s eligibility for the program. The client will need a referral from their GP to see the paediatrician or psychiatrist

Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS):

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) is for people with chronic conditions and complex needs who require ongoing treatment from a multidisciplinary team.

Your child may be eligible if they are considered by the GP to have a chronic medical condition. To be considered chronic they need to have been suffering from this condition for 6 months or more.

Individuals with special needs diagnosis (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder and Cerebral Palsy) are automatically eligible for this service. This MBS allows up to 5 sessions per calendar year of allied health therapy, including speech pathology. The refund is approximately $58.00 per session.
